This book was compiled, completely arbitrarily, by us, to encourage the citizens of Pittsburgh, PA (and surroundings) to appreciate and to relish the neighborhood "watering holes and eating places" that help to make Pittsburgh a little different from other places. Each place has been recommended by special people and explored by us, who are also special! Fifty-seven of them are offered for your enjoyment -- a good Pittsburgh number! We delight in them and hope you will, as well. Look around -- these neighborhoods are part of what makes Pittsburgh unique -- not always stylish, but individualized by their stores, their locations, their history, their owners and their food. You will not find chains in here, but offerings that will make you chuckle... and will tickle your palate. These places, with the exception of one, are very moderately priced -- our hope is that EVERYONE will take advantage of these culinary experiences.
